چکیده

Today’s industrial product lines in the automotive and construction equipment domain face the challenge to show functional safety standard compliance and argue for the absence of failures for all derived product variants. The product line approaches are not sufficient to support practitioners to trace safety-related characteristics through development. We aim to provide aid in creating a safety case for a certain configuration in a product line such that overall less effort is necessary for each configuration. In this paper we 1) discuss the impact of functional safety on product line development, 2) describe a model-based approach to capture safety-related characteristics during concept phase for product lines and 3) discuss the usefulness of our proposal.

Design of a New IPFC-Based Damping Neurocontrol for Enhancing Stability of a Power System Using Particle Swarm Optimization

The interline power flow controller (IPFC) is a concept of the FACTS controller for series compensation which can inject a voltage with controllable magnitude and phase angle among multi lines. This paper proposes a novel IPFC-Based Damping Neuro-control scheme using PSO for damping oscil‌la‌t‌i‌o‌ns in a power system to improve power system stability. The add‌i‌tion of a supplementary controll...

Safety analysis of software product lines using state - based modeling q

The difficulty of managing variations and their potential interactions across an entire product line currently hinders safety analysis in safety-critical, software product lines. The work described here contributes to a solution by integrating product-line safety analysis with model-based development. This approach provides a structured way to construct state-based models of a product line havi...

Methods for Modeling of Product Lines for Safety-critical Systems

Software product line engineering is a proposed methodology that enables software products and software-intensive systems to be developed at lower cost, higher quality and less time to market. The structured and managed artifacts reuse among di erent products in development is the main target of software product line engineering. As a key-method of the product line engineering approach, the com...

Product Line Analysis and the System Safety Process

Product lines (groups of highly similar products) have recently received a great deal of attention in the software engineering community, and especially in organisations that develop products that contain embedded software. The product-line concept provides a constrained production environment that facilitates change and reuse between members of the product line. The reported successes of the l...

VROOM & cC: a Method to Build Safety Cases for ISO 26262-compliant Product Lines

ISO 26262 is a functional safety standard that targets the automotive domain. This standard focuses on single system certification and does not contain guidelines to certify product lines. Thus, to be ISO 26262-compliant, for each product of a product line, a company must provide almost from scratch all the work products required by the standard, including a safety case. Current product lines e...
